Paula Alexandria Santos Landim was born in Providence, Rhode Island on Friday, June 18, 1999. She was the daughter of Francisco M.C. Landim and Dulce H. Landim. She was also the sister to Paulo A. Landim, Alexandro Silva, Domenik Lopes, Benjamin Santos, and Kendra A. Dos Santos Landim, all of whom she is survived by.

She was born and diagnosed with sickle-cell anemia, a severe hereditary form of anemia in which a mutated form of hemoglobin distorts the red blood cells into a crescent shape at low oxygen levels, most common among in those of African heritage. It is a lifelong disease for which there is no cure.
Although born with this ailment, Paula strived to live a normal and happy life despite her dealing with the complications and trials that come with the disease. She was a strong, brave, tenacious, sweet, amiable and fun-loving young woman who would always stick by her family’s side and tackle everyday life with a sense of humor and a smile on her face. Everyone who has met Paula would often say she had a positive light to her which left a lasting impression on them.

Paula tragically passed away at Rhode Island Hospital on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at the young age of 23 years old, after a long and hard-fought battle against her illnesses. We hope she will find peace and rest for her endeavors and we applaud her for the example she set throughout her life for everyone today. Paula will be dearly missed by her beloved friends, family, and all those who knew her well.

A Memorial Talk will be held for Paula on Saturday, August 13, 2022 from 9am until 10am, followed by visitation from 10am until 11:30am in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave., Lincoln. Burial will be in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence.
